Fire Prevention week wraps up in Fort St. John

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Saturday the Fort St. John Fire Department held a parade which ended at the Canadian Tire parking lot.  During the rest of the day, Fire Fighters from Taylor and Fort St. John were on hand to help demonstrate just how dangerous a fire can be.

One demonstration showed how quickly a fire can spread in a bedroom when Fire Fighters set a mock room on fire.  Less than two minutes after smoke alarms went off, the room was fully engulfed in fire.  Children also had the opportunity to use a fire extinguisher to help put out a small fire.

For more information on fire prevention and fire escape plans, call the Fire Hall at 250-787-4333.
