Tuesday, city council voted on the current bleacher situation at the Pomeroy Sport Centre, as well as the installation of additional offices within the facility.

Council decided that Pomeroy staff should negotiate with the lowest bidder for the offices, Vector Projects, for work within the construction budget of $1,200,000. If negotiations with Vector Projects are unsuccessful, staff is authorized to proceed with the project under Agency Construction Management.

The tender submitted by Vector Projects totalled $1,511,455.00, the lowest of the three over budget tenders received.

A recommendation for additional bleachers was also passed at the City Council meeting. Council also voted to reject the proposed tenders for bleachers at the Centre. Staff will now negotiate with Global Sport and Resources for the installation of three sets of custom bleachers. The construction will not be allowed to exceed the project budget of $222,266.00.

Global Sport Resources Ltd. Submitted a tender of $139,716.00, which would provide additional seating for 3,300 people.
