St. Martin's celebrates its 80th anniversary

As the church began to deteriorate, it was moved to the old Fort to be part of a park. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by fire by vandals in 1970 before it could be repaired.

An open house will be held on North Peace Museum grounds on Saturday, September 17th from 1-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served and local artists will perform. Attendees can also check out old photos of the museum.

The event is intended to be a celebration of the community that sprung up around the church. It became a community center, where meetings. potluck suppers, and bazaars were held.
