Salvation Army grateful for volunteer help
Day of Caring is a project created by the United Way, which promotes local volunteers contributing to various non-profit organizations within the community.
On Sept. 10, Acklands Grainger volunteers helped sort all the food that had been donated during the last food bank food drive.
Dale Sokoloski, the Salvation Army Shelter Manager says, "the volunteers were amazing and helped out more than I can tell you. They gave us a significant jump on our food drives, so thank you."
The volunteers from the Acklands Graingers were Branch Manager Jerry Ward, Diane Ward and Trish Gordon.
The United Way Community Director for Northeast B.C. Niki Hedges, spoke about the weekend food drive, saying she was "very impressed with what goes on beyond the thrift store and the vision and passion that Ben Lippers, Salvation Army Community Director has."
She also extended her thanks to Acklands Grainger for giving their time to benefit the community.
