Local ATV club makes generous donation
On Tuesday, Sept 13, the Fort St. John Moose ATV Club held an AGM and one item on the agenda was presenting the Fort St. John Ride for the Disabled with a generous donation.
Moose ATV Club VP Bob Janzen presented Winter Ward, the Ride for the Disabled treasurer a cheque for $2,250.
This was the second year in a row the club made a donation to the Ride for the Disabled. Last years donation totalled $2,000.
The donation money came from the proceeds earned from the clubs participation in the North Pine Fall Fair Parking Project, where club members assisted in collecting money for parking at the fair.
According to Ward, the money is extremely helpful in alleviating some of the Ride for the Disabled annual costs. Some of those costs include arena rentals and the purchasing of hay, which can be pricey when added up over a full year.
The Ride for the Disabled is a local non-profit organization that provides handicapped children the opportunity to ride horses, something they normally would not be able to accomplish.
