Building owners looking to change the exterior colour of their building will now pay significantly less.

At a public hearing Monday night, City Council amended the bylaws to include a definition of "Minor Works". "Minor Works" is the work necessary to apply a coat of paint to the facade of a builing, changing the current colour scheme.

The bylaw change corresponds with a reduced development permit fee. A minor works development permit application will now cost $250, a decrease from the previous charge of $750.

Approximately 25%-30% of development permit applications will be affected by the new definition.

The change only affects buildings within development permit areas. To see if your property falls in those areas, click on the PDF map below.
