Taylor's stories being shared

The citizens of Taylor are getting another reason to talk about their town.

The Taylor Memory Project is hosting an open house this Wednesday Aug. 17, from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Taylor Council Chambers, where locals will have the opportunity to share their stories about the town.

Event Organizer Harry Parsons explains, the project is aimed at providing not just a look at Taylor’s past, but it’s present too.

The actual project itself is an effort by the District of Taylor and the Alaska Highway Communities Society to find out what the district means to its current inhabitants.

Residents of Taylor, as well as anyone with a connection to the town, are encouraged to attend the open house and share stories about their district, which will be filmed and to keep for future use.

Taylor is also keen on keeping a local focus and is looking to hire some community members of all ages to help locate, document and exhibit their findings.

Parson says the project is looking for anyone to share their stories.
