Arrest made in 2009 Doig River man's murder

A Doig River First Nation resident has been arrested for the 2009 murder of Kevin Attachie.
The 40-year-old died on October 25th, 2009.
After more than a year and a half investigation, 30-year-old Leander Attachie was arrested on July 8th. He has been charged with second degree murder and has been remanded in custody. He is expected back in court on July 27th.
Fort St. John RCMP say they, along with officers from the North District Major Crimes Unit and the General Investigation sections have been conducting interviews with witness since Kevin Attachie’s death. They also say members from the National Forensic Service Section helped investigators to examine evidence obtained from two separate search warrants.
