Evacuation alert and state of emergency cancelled

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The alert had been issued last Thursday after Environment Canada had issued a rainfall warning for much of the Peace and the B.C. River Forecast Centre had issued a High Streamflow Advisory.

Some areas around the Peace had been expected to receive between 80 and 115 millimetres of rain.

The Regional District also cancelled the state of emergency officials put in place last week so they could clean up properties that have been damaged by the previous flood.

They add will continue to monitor conditions around the Peace and will post updates to the PRRD website.
