Fort St. John gets new financial director

The City of Fort St. John has appointed a new financial director.

Michael Roy will be beginning his new role in August.

The City says Roy has more than 12 years of experience handing local government finances and has considerable knowledge in operating and capital budget preparation.

Roy has also served as a returning officer for local elections and as a volunteer firefighter.

He will be taking over from Laura Sanders, who is retiring next year.
