UPDATE – City sewer system at capacity, residents asked to avoid heavy water use
UPDATE – After working all day our utility crew and 15 vac trucks are just starting to make some headway on the sanitary sewer levels. Thank you to everyone for restricting water usage. Please continue to do so this evening – we will provide the next update tomorrow morning. Hopefully the rain will slow down overnight and we will be back to more "normal" levels tomorrow! Thanks again.
The City of Fort St. John has issued this message on their Facebook Page. Heavy rains have resulted in many flooded basements and issues on area roadways.Â
Important Notice From the City of Fort St. John: Due to the current rain event and infiltration of water into the sanitary main lines, the sanitary sewer system is near capacity. Residents of the City are being asked to restrain from using large amounts of water (eg. laundry, long showers) in an effort to relieve the strain on the system. Thank you for your co-operation – we hope mother nature turns off the taps soon!
