Rain fall warning continues and new records set

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The rain isn’t over yet as Environment Canada says we could see another 10 to 20 mm rain Saturday.

So far it is safe to say both Dawson Creek and Fort St. John have set new rain fall records. On Friday Dawson Creek got 54.4 mm of rain and Fort St. John got 37.1 mm of rain.

A trough of low pressure that brought all this rain to the Northeast will remain nearly stationary today. Additional rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm are expected today, with the heaviest amounts over the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains and near thunderstorms.

Rainfall is expected to taper off this evening as the band of precipitation weakens and drifts southward.
