With over 54.4 mm of rain Friday, several areas of Dawson Creek have experienced flooding.

As of Saturday morning only one street, 17th street, is currently closed because of heavy flooding. According to Dawson Creek Fire Chief Shorty Smith, most of the roads that were closed Friday night are now open again as the water has receded.

There are several reports of homes and businesses that have various degrees of flooding all over the community. Early Saturday morning, Tubby’s RV park was evacuated because of high water. All 85 sites were evacuated and everyone was able to leave the park safely.
