One person injured after rollover

One man has been medevaced from Dawson Creek after a roll over Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 1 p.m., the Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a single vehicle accident approximately 6km west of Dawson Creek on the Alaska Highway. The male driver lost control of a vehicle while traveling east bound on the Alaska Highway. The highway was wet at the time, when the driver hit the east bound ditch.

The vehicle hit a sign, rolled over and came to a rest on its wheels. The male driver was transported to the Dawson Creek Regional Hospital suffering from facial and head lacerations. At this time, the RCMP state he is in serious condition and Wednesday evening hospital staff were preparing for the male to be flown to another hospital for further treatment.

The male driver is a resident of the local area and his family has been notified.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
