A 24 year-old unlicensed driver has been charged with numerous offences after an early Tuesday morning collision involving a police car in Fort St. John.
Cody Lascelle has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision, resisting arrest, assaulting a peace officer, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level more than 0.08. He is also facing various charges under the Motor Vehicle Act.
The collision occurred at 2:30 a.m. when a patrol car, which was driving north along 100 St., was hit by an uninsured and unlicensed driver travelling east along 102 Ave. who allegedly ran a stop sign.
The driver then got out of the vehicle and began to run from the scene.
