Smoke from major fires in Slave Lake drifts over Fort St. John

Early-Season forest fires have devestated the town of Slave Lake. According to CTV Edmonton, much of the town is on fire including the City Hall. Reports say all highway access in and out of the community are closed due to the fires, and high winds are keeping water bombers on the ground.

Smoke from the fires started drifting over Fort St. John late Sunday afternoon. The Weather Network is reporting that the smoke could last for 3-4 days depending on the progress of the fires.
