RCMP investigating two suspicious weekend fires
The Fort St. John RCMP and the Fort St. John Fire Department are investigating two suspicious fires.
The fires both occurred early Sunday morning near 86 street. The first happened at a residence near 100 avenue at approximately 1 a.m. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire before it caused significant damage to the outside of the home. The home owner was not a home at the time of the fire.
The second fire happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. at the Surerus Ball Diamonds. This time the RCMP and Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire. The vehicle, which was a four door sedan, had extensive damage to the inside but was extinguished quickly. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
At this time, both fires are being treated as suspicious in nature. The RCMP do not have any suspects or witnesses in either incident and are looking for your help.
Police would like to remind residents who live in the area, to be observant and report any suspicious activities to police immediately.
