Four jet boaters from Fort St. John and Charlie Lake have been found safe after disappearing along the Murray River, near Tumbler Ridge.

According to the Tumbler Ridge News, Andrew Spencer, Norma Boychuk and David and Yvonne Scahaubel were stranded in an area near Skunk Creek and the Gwillim River after running out of gas, returning from a trip to Kinuseo Falls on May 7.

They were eventually found around 8:30 a.m. on May 10 by some local boaters and the Tumbler Ridge Search and Rescue.

The Tumbler Ridge News also reports the group was forced to camp for two nights, but had warm clothing and enough food to sustain them for awhile.

They were eventually found around three kilometres from the Tumbler Ridge boat launch after Spencer walked toward Highway 52 and attempted to get a cell signal, which bounced off a phone tower, providing the local RCMP detachment with a search area to begin looking.
