Busy weekend for Bike club

The Blizzard Bike Club is about to race the sixth stage of its seven stage race.

The race began Thursday and on Friday, during the second stage of the event known as the Beatton hill climb, Pat Ferris placed first in an exciting sprint to the finish, beating Geroge Gamble and Kevin Shaw.

The third stage of the race, known as the Frozen John loop, took place Friday afternoon and was won by George Gamble, with Kevin Shaw and Pat Ferris finishing second and third, respectively.

On Saturday, riders raced the Mile 62 road as part of event’s fourth stage. That leg was won by Colter Young, who finished ahead of Les Elliot and Kevin Shaw.

Stage five, the Cecil Lake road race, took place Sunday and was won by Colter Young, beating Stephen Ferris and Kevin Shaw.

The final two stages of the race will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. On Tuesday, stage six will be a short Montney road race, beginning at 6:30. Then, on Thursday, the seventh, and final stage, is the Baldonnel time trail, which also begins at 6:30.
