FSJ March building numbers

The March value of construction in Fort St. John was more than double that of the same month last year.

Nine permits were issued, valued at $3,430,000 as compared to 12 permits, valued at $1,556,000 in March of 2010.

That put the year-to-date value at more than $275,000,000 compared to less than $11,000,000 last year.

However, the increase is largely the result of one new hospital permit issued last month, for more than $270,000,000.

City revenue from permits issued this year is now almost $524,000, more than seven and half times the total for the comparable period last year.
