RCMP in British Columbia are warning the public to be on the look out for a prisoner who escaped from a Drumheller prison.
On March 10, William Wade Bicknell, escaped while returning from Edmonton to Drumheller. Bicknell overpowered the guard after he faked an illness. The guard was then handcuffed and placed in the back of the vehicle, while Bicknell drove back to Edmonton.
Bicknell then retrieved multiple firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun and two bags of ammunition. After he drove to a residence in a rural area and he stole a vehicle, abandoning the guard and the corrections van.
There have been unconfirmed sightings of Bicknell in Alberta and British Columbia. The RCMP have will not said where in British Columbia Bicknell may have been spotted.
According to the RCMP, Bicknell is a first time federal offender serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder.
Bicknell is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous. The RCMP state he has said in the past that if he encountered police, he would not be going quietly.
William Wade Bicknell is described as follows:
- Height: 198 cm (6’6”)

- Weight: 227 kg (500 lb)

- Eyes : Hazel
Hair: Brown

- Tattoos: full sleeves on both arms
- Left: a unicorn on left shoulder, a cobra on left arm, and a heart on chest.
- Right: upper arm- Semi Truck with Demon
Bicknell is believed to be driving a stolen 2009 grey Chevrolet Impala, Alberta Licence plate CXE 602.
