The Fort St. John RCMP have busted a sophisticated marijuana grow-op in Charlie Lake.
On Monday Feb. 21, the Fort St. John RCMP and the RCMP Regional General Investigation Section executed a search warrant at a rural property on the 287 road in Charlie Lake.
Police discovered a sophisticated marijuana grow operation in two houses and two garages on the property. Police seized over 1,300 plants worth an estimated street value of over $700,000. The RCMP also seized evidence related to the grow-op.
The Police discovered the grow-op after B.C. Hydro crews responded to a power outage on Sunday Feb. 20. Employees discovered the home on the 287 road had been stealing power and reported that theft to the RCMP.
At the time the search warrant was executed, no one was at the property. The Fort St. John RCMP and the RCMP Regional General Investigation Section are still investigating the grow-op and the persons responsible for the facility.
Anyone with information regarding this or any other grow operation is encouraged to call the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-0140. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestoppersfsj.ca
