Prince George RCMP had to be called out to the city’s Aquatic Centre after an 11 year-old refused to leave the pool.

Last Thursday evening, the boy’s caregiver and pool staff spent around two hours attempting to get the boy out of the pool before calling police. Police say the boy was acting violently and abusively towards pool staff and other pool users.

The pool was eventually cleared and an RCMP officer tried to negotiate with the boy before getting into the water to remove him.

Police say the boy was eventually taken home and released to his caregiver.
