High snow leads to high concerns
The issue of snow removal was discussed at Monday’s Council meeting.
After Council gave praise to the local snow removal staff during the record breaking snow fall the city had recently received, a concern was raised.
An accident had occurred due to the abnormally high wind rows in the middle of 100th Ave, which obstructed the view of a driver in a smaller vehicle.
Council requested that the wind rows be reduced in size to ensure the safety of all drivers on the road. This request was heard by the City Manager and will be taken into action.
Another issue was the fact that some areas in the community have not been plowed, while others streets have been immaculately cleaned. Council did discuss how this is a prevalent problem and that they are aware of the issue.
The city is thinking of new adjustments in their snow clearing policy to provide equal cleaning opportunities in order to accommodate everyone.
