FSJ population gets closer to 20,000
The population in Fort St. John continues to grow.
B.C. Stats has released the current population information for communities all over the province. Fort St. John saw a small increase of 391 more residents in 2010 compared to 2009. That brings the current population to 19,873.
The rest of our region also saw similar growth with Dawson Creek growing by 2.9 per cent to 11,860. Taylor saw an increase of one per cent to 1,497 and the District of Hudson’s Hope increased to 1,056.Â
As a whole over 63,000 people live in the Peace River Region of the province.
In Fort Nelson, the region saw an increase of 3.4 per cent to 6,209.
The Province of B.C. exceeded the 4.5 million population mark with a 1.6 per cent increase in 2010.
