A Grande Prairie man is facing several charges after fleeing from police, twice.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning when Grande Prairie RCMP patrol officers say they saw a vehicle being driven erratically at around 6:25. Police say they tried to stop the vehicle but eventually had to give up their pursuit.
Then, at 7 a.m. police say they saw the same vehicle and pursued it until the driver ran into a snow bank. The suspect tried to flee on foot and the Police Dog Service was brought in to find him. He was arrested only a short distance away.
The 28 year-old man is facing charges of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000, being unlawfully at large and breaching court document conditions.
