Experiment to get a little tipsy

Drinking alcohol and experiments usually do not go hand in hand.

Tomorrow however, three participants, Brent Hodson from The Northeast News, Kimberley Molina from Moose FM and Russell Eggleston from Northern Groove, will take place in a drinking experiment.

From 3-6 p.m. at J.D. Fitzgerald’s Pub, the control group will be forced to consume one alcoholic beverage every 15 minutes, in order to record the affects of alcohol on an individual. After each drink, the participants will be subjected to a breathalyzer and a series of tests by an RCMP officer, measuring their blood alcohol level.

The experiment, created by the local RCMP, is to showcase how alcohol effects everyone differently with regards to blood alcohol levels.

The experiment stemmed from growing concerns regarding the stricter drinking and driving laws being enforced in B.C.

Police want to showcase that there still is a safe level of alcohol the public can consume which depends on the individual person, not the amount of liquor.

The entire event will be broadcast live on the Moose, so tune in, get informed and have a laugh at some other peoples’ expense.
