Four teams progress in Junior District Curling Tournament

The results are in from the weekend’s Junior District Curling Tournament.

The event, hosted by the Peace Curling Association, saw multiple men’s and women’s teams compete for the opportunity to play in the Subway Alberta Junior Provincial Championship.

Two teams from each side earned a spot to compete in the Provincial Championships.

The teams set to represent the PCA at the Alberta Subway Junior Provincials are Brett Vavrek and Jordan Steinke from the men’s side and Stephanie Yanishewski and Jaclyn Huitt from the women’s.

Grande Prairie’s Jordan Guinette made it all the way to the finals, losing to team Steinke by a score of 7-5.

The provincial tournament will take place Jan. 5-9 and will be hosted by the Crestwood Curling Club in Edmonton.
