Christmas to be extended for select few

There will be an extra day of Christmas for a select few this year.

The Rotary Mega Lottery’s final draw will take place on Sunday, Dec. 26, giving one lucky ticket holder the opportunity to win the $40,000 grand prize or a choice between a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS, a 2011 Ford Mustang GT or a 2011 Honda Pilot.

Second place prizes are also impressive, as the runner-up has the choice between a $25,000, 2011 GMC Terrain, 2010 Ford Ranger XLT or a 2011 Honda Insight.

However, the prizes don’t stop there, as the third place winner receives a Polaris Razer LE, the fourth place wins a Honda Big Red side by side quad, fifth place takes home a Polaris Sportsman 550 LE quad and even a six place winner receives a $5,000 travel voucher.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Rotary Mega Lottery offers tons of great prizes to other ticket holders, including LED televisions, treadmills, BBQ’s, Notebook computers and much more.

Early Bird draws have begun and two lucky ticket holders have already received thousands of dollars in prizes. Alan Bone won $10,000 on Oct.14 and Ryan Van Esch won $15,000 on Nov. 25.

Tickets are still available at multiple locations in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson. For specific ticket seller locations, visit or contact Connie Sall at 250-785-4408.

The final draws, including for the grand prize will take place Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Fort St. John Totem Mall, in front of Western Financial. Tickets must be entered no later than 3 p.m. in order to be entered into the lottery.

Ticket prices are one for $40 or three for $100.
