Huskies Humbled In Grande Prairie

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

If only hockey games were two minutes long, the Huskies would have skated away with a win over their rivals Grande Prairie and would have found themselves only 4 points back of the Wheelers for 3rd place; instead Cory Littman netted a Hat-Trick in the first and Ryan Halwa bucked his rough patch with two goals in an embarassing 11-2 defeat for the Pups.

Robbie Sidhu gave the short benched Huskies an early 1-0 lead after keeping on a 2-on-1 but that was the lone bright spot on a night where the Huskies continued a streak of allowing atleast 7 goals (now at 3 games.)

The Huskies can’t afford to make it 4 in a row against bitter rivals Dawson Creek on Saturday night. Cash Brinkworth is questionable for that game with a lower body injury suffered in the loss to the Wheelers. Sexsmith did the Huskies a huge favor by beating the Canucks on Friday, so that makes Saturday nights game as big as NWJHL games get before the Christmas break. The winner of Saturdays showdown will find themselves in 4th place in the NWJHL standings.
