UPDATE – The Ministry of Transportation now says the road will be closed until 7pm Monday.  As we get more information, we will pass it along.

Highway 2 near Tomslake is closed after a serious accident Monday morning.

Details about the accident haven’t been released, but as of 11am, the RCMP expect the highway to be closed for at least 6 to 7 hours.

Highway 2 is closed between Arndt Road and Tate Road and there is a detour in place using the Old Edmonton Highway, but expect long delays.
