Alliance Pipeline Fort St. John Loop pipeline proposal

Alliance Pipeline says fieldwork and land acquistion, which began last month, is continuing on its proposed Fort St. John Loop.

It will be built alongside its existing pipeline running east and west across the Alberta/BC border north of Pouce Coupe.

The company, a limited partnership owned by the Enbridge Income Fund and by Fort Chicago Energy Partners, has begun consultation with stakeholders, including First Nations.

The 24 inch line would extend from the company’s meter station near Taylor, to its Blueberry compressor station near Gordondale, in the Alberta Peace, west of Spirit River.

Alliance had initially proposed construction of 15 kilometers of pipeline infrastructure to accomodate the recepit of what it calls, "Increased, sweet natural gas volumes being produced in this region".

Now however, it has up-scaled the proposal to include 60 kilometers of new pipeline, and subject to regulatory approval, hopes to begin construction in the first half of 2012 and have the line in service by the end of that year.
