Support Fort St John News

The Fort St John Flyers have named a new head coach for the upcoming season and it’s a familiar face.

Former GM Darrel Leahy has returned to the Flyers fold, this time behind the bench, as Fort St John looks to defend their Allan, McKenzie and Savage Cup Championships in 2011.

Leahy replaces the departing Adam Brash who lead the Flyers to their historic Allan Cup Championship last season.

Leahy had a very successful junior career that included stops in the BCHL with Abbotsford and Chilliwack as well as stops in the WHL with Great Falls and New Westminster.

Leahy is also a former Senior Flyer having spent 9 season strapping on the blue and white and he coached minor hockey in FSJ for 5 years.

The Fort St John Senior Flyers have set lofty goals for the 2010/11 season including defending their Allan Cup Championship and Leahy will be the man at the helm as the Flyers look to repeat as National Champions.
