UPDATE: Fatal accident on Highway 97 near Fort Nelson

**UPDATE #2:  The RCMP have released a few more details about the accident.  Click here, to read more. 

**UPDATE:  A single lane of the highway is now open to traffic.

The Alaska Highway is closed at km 445, just south of Fort Nelson.

At this time we have very few details about a fatal accident near the railway crossing at km 445.

Highway crews state the highway will not be open until at least 2pm today, but could be open to single lane traffic by 11am.  There is no detour around the accident scene.
