Vandals hit Dawson Creek wind farm

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Vandals cause damage at Dawson Creek wind farm.

Over the weekend, the Dawson Creek RCMP and Alta Gas, believe someone visited the site and used some sort of sling shot to fire fist sized rocks at the towers. The rocks were traveling at such high velocity, that one of them went through a metal sign that was a 1/4 inch thick. Several large dents along with multiple small ones are visible on the wind tower.

The suspects also attempted to pry open the louvers on the doors to gain entry. Alta Gas reports that the damage can be repaired, but will be costly.
