The Huskies are in good shape heading into the 2010/2011 season.
At the club’s AGM on June 15th the club filled many of the organizational vacancies for the upcoming year and elected a new executive.
Past President Carolyn Krauss says there are still a few positions that need to be filled, but the operational team is strong heading into the summer.
Sylvester Apsassin will be returning as Huskies president in the coming year, while Mary Doyle has offered to take over as secretary. Clayton Verchere, Carolyn Krauss, and Bill Snow are also all returning as directors. Krauss says she thinks the Huskies have also found someone to fill the key treasurer’s role left vacant by the departing Karen Sparling.
Krauss says the Huskies got less money from provincial gaming grants this year than in the past, but she says the club’s finances are in good shape. She says the team is ready to begin selling advertising packages for the upcoming season. “We just hope the community supports the Huskies like they have in the past” she adds.
