Police warn of continuing phone scams

The Fort St. John RCMP are reminding residents to be wary of giving out personal information over the telephone.

The Mounties say they received a complaint on Tuesday from an invididual who had been offered a free cell phone.

After revealing personal information, the individual proceeded to contact the phone company which confirmed that no such promotion was being offered.

Police remind the public to never give out personal information over the phone, and always insist on identification before dealing with solicitors.
