Along with Braden Herron he helped start minor hockey in this city 55 years ago, and he was also a driving force behind the construction of the Kids Arena.
The Fort St. John Rotary RV Park in Charlie Lake is named in honour of the long time rotarian, and in a community tribute earlier this year, he was also chosen as the final torchbearer in the local Olympic Torch Relay.
Along with his children and grand-children, MacLean is survived by his wife Irene, to whom he was married for nearly 70 years.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.
