The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Energy in Action Team is back in the Peace today, working with about 50 students from grades four to six, at Tremblay Elementary School in Dawson Creek.

This is the seventh year of the program, and Laura says the students are taught about petroleum and petroleum products…careful resource development…what is meant by reclamation…and then….

She adds, at every stop the group tries come up with a project, that is unique to the area it is visiting, and at this school it’s the medicine wheel, which goes to the Metis tradition of many of the students…

She says the overall objective of the program is to encourage students in the visited resource communities to define their environmental vision, and to work with them to try and achieve it.
