Power has been restored in the community of Fort Nelson after an outage that caused over 3,000 customers to go without power for 5 hours.

BC Hydro reports there were four separate outages that had people from Prophet River to Fort Nelson sitting in the dark. Â They all started around 3 p.m. (PST), the two largest outages were caused by an equipment failure. Â Hydro says the problem was with a faulty transmission switch at a location somewhere in Alberta. Â A smaller outage was caused by fire and the forth was also caused by equipment failure.
