A wildlife photographer is recovering after he got the scare of a lifetime earlier this month.

The 42 year old male was living out of a cabin near Carbon Creek, southwest of Hudson’s Hope.

Corporal Darren Woroshelo with the Hudson’s Hope RCMP says the man didn’t pack enough food for his stay, and was left starving for nearly two weeks.

The helicopter pilot left the man with food, and notified the Hudson’s Hope RCMP detachment about the incident.

Cpl. Woroshelo says members from the Search and Rescue team in Fort St. John were called to assist in getting the man out of the bush.

The wildlife photographer kept hydrated by melting snow in his cabin.

Cpl. Woroshelo is applauding the search and rescue team for its swift response in finding the man on February 1st.
