Ballantyne sentenced to life in prison
A Fort St. John man received life in prison last week, after he was found guilty of second degree murder in 2006.
Leonard Freedom Ballantyne was convicted of killing Neil McNamara four years ago in the 10000 block of 97th Avenue in Fort St. John. McNamara succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the Fort St. John Hospital.
Ballantyne will be eligible for parole in twelve years and has also received a lifetime prohibition on possessing firearms.
