Arrest made in Eagle Manor Apartment fire

An 18 year old man from High Prarie, Alberta, faces one count of arson in connection to a fire at the Eagle Manor Apartments in November.

Austin Auger was arrested on Wednesday by the High Prairie Detachment, in relation to two break and enter, and theft occurrences in High Prarie.

Upon futher investigation, officers discovered unidentified evidence which led to Auger being charged with one count of Arson, in relation to the Eagle Manor fire. No injuries were reported in the massive blaze.

Auger is also facing a Theft of Motor Vehicle charge in relation to a separate offence from December 2009 in Grande Prairie.

In High Prairie, Auger faces charges in connection with arson to property, two charges of break and enter, and breach of an undertaking.

The 18 year-old remains in custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on January 27th, 2010 and in High Prairie Provincial Court on January 25th, 2010.
