A Fort St. John man remains in custody after police discovered child pornography on his computer.

Corporal Steve Perret says police conducted a month-long investigation, and arrested James Robert Morris on Thursday, January 14th.

The 33 year-old Morris appeared before provincial court on Tuesday. He was denied bail and was detained in custody until his trial.

Police found images of child sexual abuse on Morris’ computer. Officers then conducted a search warrant on his residence, and seized two computers along with other electronic storage devices.

Perret says it’s unknown if the children depicted in the images are from the Fort St. John area. But, he says police know that people are viewing child pornagraphy in the City.

Perret says police are currently conducting forensic examination of the seized material.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
