Stanley Cup to appear in Fort St. John

Fort St. John residents will have the chance to get up close and personal with the Stanley Cup.

President of the Fort St. John Senior Flyers, Paul van Nostrand, is making arrangements to have the coveted cup on display for one day, during the 2010 Allan Cup competition.

He made the announcement on the January 6th edition of Issues and Answers.

Van Nostrand says the 2010 Allan Cup Host Committee has arranged for the Hockey Hall of Fame to bring in one of its travelling road shows, too.

The collection of exhibits and trophies will be on display at the North Peace Arena from Tuesday, April 20th until the 24th.

Van Nostrand says the collection will be free of charge, so everyone in the community can tour the exhibit. He adds, the display will be open outside of game times, so those without game tickets will still have the opportunity to explore it.

He says Troyer Ventures is footing the bill for the Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit.

The Allan Cup Competition will be held at the North Peace Arena on April 19th – 24th.
