Big Bam opening delayed until Jan. 2

The Big Bam Ski Hill will be opening one week later than anticipated.

Spokesperson Duane Brooks confirmed on Tuesday, volunteers have been going "too fast, too hard."   He says had organizers tried to open on Boxing Day as scheduled, preparations would have been too hasty.  It also would have meant volunteers wouldn’t have had time or energy left over to spend with their families over Christmas.

So, Big Bam will now open to the public on January 2nd.  The Grand Opening has also been pushed back, to January 16th.

Meanwhile, Brooks says anyone interested can now register for seasons passes at the Fort St. John Visitor Information Centre, at Ernie’s, or at the Griffin Sport and Ski Shoppe.
