Christmas cheer is being spread through the Energetic City, to those who need it the most.

After months of fundraising, the local Salvation Army began to distribute Christmas hampers on Monday.

Volunteer April Alderson helped put the 212 hampers together, which she says took almost three weeks to complete.

She says she now volunteers because the Salvation Army helped her when she was in need.

Earlier in December, the Salvation Army took applications from those-in need.

Captain Isobel Lippers says it took contributions from a lot of different companies and organizations to raise enough stuff to fill each hamper.  Each hamper has assorted items in it, like toys and clothes.

Lippers says everyone who has picked up a hamper has been grateful.

Anyone who applied for a hamper is asked to pick it up at the Totem Mall, on December 21st or 22nd. Hours of operation run from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. both days.
