Denny Morrison picks up a bronze
By Adam Reaburn
The Canadian long-track Speed Skating team is hosting World Cup number four in Calgary.
We’ll start with the men’s 1,500, where Fort St. John’s Denny Morrison clocked in at 1:42.73 seconds, good for a third place finish, behind Americans Chad Hedrick and Shani Davis.  So Denny wins a bronze, with the 1000 still to come on Sunday.
Jamie Gregg finished third in the men’s 500 metres at a long-track speedskating World Cup event on Friday.  Gregg finished with a time of 34.45 seconds matching Joji Kato.
The Japanese speedskater actually finished 6-1000ths of a second ahead of Gregg.  The ISU originally awarded both men silver medals, but Gregg was later given a bronze instead.
Mika Poutala of Finland won gold with a time of 34.38 seconds.
