The province has provided B.C. municipalities with almost $16 million in funding.
The grants-in-lieu of property taxes are an annual way Victoria compensates municipalities for the local services they provide to government properties. Â The services include roads and sewers, as well as fire protection.
This year, the Provincial government is distributing $15.9 million to 63 municipalities across the province.
Fort St. John will receive $85,397. Dawson Creek, meanwhile, gets $108,419.
