Free FM, a radio station in Grande Prairie, is reporting that the package contains a pipe bomb. The Grande Prairie RCMP has closed its detachment, after a concerned citizen brought in a suspicious package on Tuesday morning.

Officers say 99th Street North at 101 Avenue and 99th Street north of the detachment are now closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

The front counter is also closed until future notice.

As the investigation continues the public is discouraged from attending the detachment until further advised.

However, regular policing services are still available through 780-830-5700.
